Sometimes I think I'm a photographer. I use a Pentax SP1000. I once had a great little Honeywell Spotmatic with a self-timer, but it disappeared. I have a tripod that I use, sometimes, and a cable release that I use, sometimes.
Mostly I just hold the camera real still and count to ten, or fifteen, or 45 and hope I've let in enough light. Lately, I have been shooting my camera out the roof of my car at high speed, but nothing startling or noteworthy has come of it yet. (Except for Ken's Bonsai, at the bottom of this page, but that was shot at only 27mph.)
Generally, I have my photos developed at Target, although Rite Aid often has good specials on developing.
