On the left, the desert girl in Hawai'i. Because my ears are really small, and I can't hold anything behind them, I did the flower in the hat routine instead of the flower behind the ear routine. But in hindsight, I really should have started a new routine and stuck 'em between my toes, as they are certainly Romanesque enough. On the right, the little girl who lives at the Surfhouse in Haleiwa introduces me to her pet slug named Harry. She had also named her then-unborn sister Molly. I have not followed up to see if the name stuck. |

Our cabin at the Surfhouse. It was basic, but cozy and clean. We were the first guests to use the newly installed bathroom (featuring neato AquaStar water heater...woo!). I highly recommend Surfhouse if you're looking for a quiet, inexpensive place to while away your days in Oahu. Little geckos lived in the rafters of the ceiling and chirped with glee throughout the night. Also, note surfboard sign in the background.
